One day....

Big change-Day 1

(sigh)..... Logan has asked several questions so far but has not really gotten upset. He slept good and woke up happy. We will see how night 2 goes when he realizes, and I have to explain, that this wasn't a one time thing.

Blonde hair pumpkin

Logan painted a pumpkin at school last week. Today we got to take them home and I asked Logan which one was his....

His answer... "duh mommy! It's the one with the blonde hair!"
Too funny. It's quite the masterpiece. ;)

Daddy's boy

This morning--- with no whimper--- Logan was up at 5:30 pleasant as can be. With in 5 minutes he teeth were brushed, he was fully dressed and he was back in my bedroom with the light flipped on. He needed his camouflage flashlight. He was up and at 'em to go run dogs with his daddy. And he needed his flashlight. Of course it's not in my room like he thought so we move into his room, look around for a minute as I tell him I have no idea where it is and he might have to go with out. As I finish saying that he says, "there it is! On my green rug. You couldn't see it mommy because it's camouflage!"
He was so proud! Like he had the ability to find things that were camouflaged and I didn't. Lol... He sweet face had the biggest smile on it. He grabbed his light and off he went downstairs. I heard him tell Trevor why I couldn't find it. :) he's so precious. I hope he is having fun... And talking Trevor's ear off ;)

Field trip to the pumpkin patch

Logan's class had their first field trip last week. We all walked to the pumpkin patch! 1 mile both ways.... With 4 year olds. They all did well though. I was surprised. Logan is a stroller kid. :)
Samantha teamed up with Logan and I. Sweet girl was do nervous! Her little hands sweated the whole way there.
The kids got their faces painted, listened to a story and of course picked out a pumpkin. Fun fun.

Fall fun!

This morning we had our 2nd annual pumpkin patch breakfast outing. The kids always have a great time. I got some super cute picture that I will have to upload from my computer later. Logan and Ryder had a blast, as
always. They are truly brothers from another mother :) they have been together all weekend and had the best time. Last night they played in Stephanie and Frank's bedroom and got into Frank's cologne. They sprayed their armpits and as Logan calls it lately, their "bum bums". It was funny.... But only because it wasn't my bedroom that smelled like a bottle of men's cologne. :)
We are loving the fall weather and spending lots of time outside.

Halloween is coming!

Halloween has become a big deal with Logan. This year he declared he was going to be a cowboy... In about July. Lol. He loves watching John Wayne so I wasn't surprised. I have been on the look out for a costume. We found one in a catalog but it included a long duster jacket...and a bullet belt. Logan loved it. Luckily I talked him out of the floor length duster this week. (I hope it's not cold when we trick or treat or he is going to remind me that I should have gotten him the jacket) :)
After a few hours on eBay I found a few and had him sold on a cute lil cowboy costume. Luckily I thought to call gymboree and LUCKY DAY they had one "lil sheriff" costume left and one matching hat- both size 4/5. Hot dog! It was $58 on eBay... In store I spent $16 on both. Yippee. Love a good deal. Logan loves it! He has had it on since we got home. He is so funny... The things he is saying.
"You want a piece of me! I'm the sheriff"
This should be fun :)
He has his heart set on Addison being HIS cowgirl <3

Sky's on fire

Logan is always very observant of the sky... Of everything really. Tonight he said, "isn't the sky pretty mommy? Looks like it's on fire". It was beautiful, I had to agree. The scary part was we found out later my parents neighbors house burnt to the ground today :( so sad.

Check up @ the dentist

Logan had his first check at the new dentist since his eventful filling in April. Unfortunately he has a spot the dentist is concerned about. We are using a special toothpaste and "varnishing" the tooth for now. Since Logan is so young... And uncooperative we are hoping it slows down the cavity. The filing in April required nasal versed, which was plan b after he would swallow the oral medicine. It was a huge ordeal to say the least. I hate that he has had the cavities. It's my fault at this point :(
We will do better from now on...

Logan meets Rodeo Whip

Needless to say he loved it. Yummy treat to end the week.
As he is eating his vanilla ice-cream he shows me his teeth and asks me if they look super shiny and white? He thought the ice-cream was making them whiter :) he has a dentist appt Tuesday and thinks lots of vanilla ice-cream will result in a good check up ;) he asked what Stacy would say about his teeth. Lol. (Stacy is his hygienist)

Sweetness....

September...gone already?!

This month has flown by...
Logan is settled into his pre-k class. Only one episode of crying in the last few weeks- it was a Monday... I wanted to cry too. ;) later in the day I asked him why he cried and he told me it was because he didn't get a big enough hug. {heart melts}
He is starting to morph from sweet baby boy to "boys are too tough to kiss their mamas". I don't love it but I expected it. He is still a snuggle bug sometimes.

We had our first big medical episode (one day I will think really? You called THAT big? But for now...) Logan came home with what I thought was a smashed finger. From a doll house (speaking of "really?!"). They have a handmade wooden dollhouse in their class room. Only Logan would stick his hand up in the roof of the dollhouse. So anyway... He told me he smashed his finger and I could see the bruise under his finger nail. The next morning I told his teacher just so she was aware of what happened. She looked at his finger and said that the dark green under his nail matches the color of the dollhouse. We looked at his finger closer and sure enough... He had a huge splinter up under his nail. Ugh! I let him stay at school and then took him to the Dr. later in the day. We are so lucky to have Twilight Pediatrics and Dr. Quinteros. The Dr. looked at Logan's finger and then back up, rubbed his head and said, "we have to get it out. It won't be fun but we can't leave it and risk infection." At this point I realized he probably wasn't going to use tweezers to get this out. Ugh again! Logan had figured it out too. Poor guy kept saying, "I just need a bandaid, give me a bandaid". After about 15 minutes the Dr. and nurse came in with a giant blue board...... My heart stopped. This is going down hill fast. Logan realized what it was too. A papoose! They wound up strapping him down. It was awful. He cried and screamed. He was mad... Very mad. Only his left arm was free and he kept fighting to get his right arm out too :( finally the Dr. started. 3 shots numbed his finger with Logan steady screaming at this point. He wanted his Daddy, he wanted a bandaid, he wanted his arm out, he was hot and he kept asking the Dr. Why he was hurting him. My mom and I fought back tears and tried to keep Logan still and comfortable. He was really very hot thx to being wrapped up and of course just the stress of the situation. It took the Dr. 1 more shot to numb Logan's finger and probably 10-15 (felt like an hour) minutes to get the hunk of wood out. Finally.... It was out and Logan was free. It was so traumatic for all 3 of us. The Papoose more than the actual procedure. My poor buddy cried and was so sad for the rest of the night. The whole ordeal exhausted him. Luckily his finger has healed fine. Still looks funny but hopefully his nail doesn't fall off. I bet he doesn't stick his hand in the dollhouse again ;)

In other new.... :)
Logan is learning to write his name. Of course he has the "L" and the "o" down put the "g" isnt coming so easily. "a" is ok and the "n" is upside down and closed. He is learning though. I am so excited for him.
He is very excited for Halloween and has chosen to be a Cowboy. Lucky for him Addison wants to be his Cowgirl. It's going to be toooo cute. Hunting season is here as well. Logan hadn't gone with Daddy yet but maybe soon. He can't wait!

Lots of fall fun coming up....

Logan's Totsites.com page...

In the beginning....

Friends of mine have been blogging for a while now and I always think, I should do that! Not that I expect anyone to really want to read about my little corner of the world BUT what a great way for me to keep up with life ;) and have something to look back on when Logan is grown. I started something similar when he was born....of course I can't think of the name of it right now but I will, eventually and I will try to link it to this blog.
Everyday is an adventure with Logan. I try not to think about the fact that it won't last forever... He is just so captivating and creative. And loving. And intelligent. And rotten to the core. One sweet little bundle that makes life worth living everyday.
So..... from now on, no more "I should write that down". Here it will be, in one spot. Forever. Or as long as the Internet and google allows. ;)

P.S. Please don't hold my spelling and grammer against me. Between my poor typing skills and my habitual reliance on spell/grammer check I pretty much stink at writing.
